Interested in swimming the Brighton Jetty Classic but feeling a bit unsure? Or perhaps want some extra coaching to sharpen your skills and build your confidence?

The Be Active program is funded by the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club and the Government of South Australia, Office for Recreation & Sport. It is free to participants and aimed at both new comers and old hands to improve their techniques and confidence for open water swimming.

Participants must be able to swim & at least 12yrs of age.

Sessions are held at the Brighton Surf Club from 2.15pm Saturday afternoons. They commence at the Start of November and are held every Saturday up to the 7 Brighton Jetty Classic at the start of February.

Key Dates


Early Bird Online Entry: Closes Wednesday 31st January 2018

Late Online Entry: Thursday, 1st February and Friday, 2nd February 2018.

Late  ‘On the day’ Entry opens: 7am Sunday 4th February 2018.

Late Entry closes 45mins prior to the swim wave start time.


Registration closes for 2017 Club 7 nomination: Friday 12th January 2017

Registration Closes for consideration for the 400m Fast Lap: Monday 29th January 2018 (now extended until 30th January at 6pm).
